Some terminology:
A post is a body of text, photo, video or quote that you “post” on the blog.
Commentsare responses to a post, which can be added under each post.
Tumblr is the name of the web-based organization that Care Watch uses for its Blog. It is not necessary to have a Tumblr account to post or comment on the Care Watch blog.
Why blog?
Similar to an organization’s web-site, blogs provide information about topics of importance to an individual or an organization, with one big difference; blogs are interactive! With a blog, you can have ongoing, on-line, interactive conversations, debates and discussions. It is about sharing information rather than just providing information.
Why Does Care Watch Want to Blog?
Care Watch wants to raise awareness and broaden the public debate about three important and related topics:
- Ageism
- Policies shaping delivery of home support services for seniors
- Engaging seniors citizens in advocacy activities
We want to facilitate ongoing discussions and healthy debate with senior citizens about ways to “name and shame” ageism, so that our collective senior citizen voice can be better heard by policy makers on issues of equitable home support services for senior citizens.
Care Watch needs you to be part of this conversation!
