INITIAL SET OF THE CARING GAME SELLS OUT - THE SECOND PRINTING IS HERE!
The Caring Game is an experiential workshop that uses a game board format to sensitize participants to the issues, feelings and concerns of those receiving in-home long-term care. In 2001 the Ontario Trillium Foundation funded Care Watch Toronto to produce 250 The Caring Game kits.
We are pleased to report that the first printing was so popular we sold out! Colleges and universities throughout the province are now using The Caring Game as a training tool for students. Also Hospices, seniors’ residences and other health related associations including the physically disabled, use The Caring Game as part of the orientation for their Volunteers. Many facilities employing home care workers have found the Game to be very beneficial for their training programs
As a result of our success, we have produced an additional 250 kits. The kits come inclusive with two game boards, an audiotape of the characters talking about themselves, a detailed manual for facilitators and handouts. The response from those who have played The Caring Game is consistently excellent. Participants say that their awareness and understanding is enhanced by the experience. We welcome all inquiries.
